half way there !!!!
for those of you who don't know i have made it my goal to make and donate to the service people 40 helmet liners, you ask whats a helmet liner, basicly its a stocking hat that the service member wears under the helmits hence the name helmet liners, the purpose is to keep them warm in the cold weather. people think its warm over in iraq and afghanistan, which it is in summer but winter is another story, well today i finished the first half of them, i made 15 myself and had 5 donated by 2 very sweet and kind and caring friends. so i am at the half way mark and only have another 20 to go, cheer me on and let me know i can do it lol,. huggggggs to ya alll

hey
hi ya all, sorry i have not blogged in a couple days. my dear daughter who i love with all my heart has gotten sicker than she has been in a long time. i took her to the doc yesterday and he was very concerned. thought it might be menengitis, but what it is i believe is a bad sinus infection combined with a virus. her temps have been spiking at like 103 and 104, but today thank the good lord they broke and she is feeling somewhat better. her little neck and shoulder muscles are like rocks, i know just how she feels as mine are always like that due to the whiplash injury i suffered 6 years ago.part of hers is that also as she was in the car with me when we were rear ended.

thankfully today she ate more and was able to take more medicine.. i did not sleep hardly at all last night for worrying about her. got up checking her like every 15 min but thank the good lord he interviened and she is on the road to recovery,

we were suppose to go to some friends house today , every year they throw a HUGE party on their lake front property. spends 1000.00s of dollars on it and we were not able to go today due to kristy being so sick. now they are mad at us. i tried to explain why we could not come, was not like we were the only ones going tobe there. , but we had planned on going, but ya know when your kids are sick(or hubbys for that matter) you drop everything, so oh well, if they can not understand then i can not help it and they can be as mad at me as they want.

so today spent the day trying to rest and relax a bit, but seems like it was every 15 min i heard mama, can you do this ect. she i think just wanted to know i was there . poor baby,. but this afternoon she finally slept so i did too, gosh slept like a log too, but then hubby was here if she needed anything. tonight we sat outside and enjoyed the evening, you can sure tell its soon going to be fall as the air is cold at night, last night and this morning my heat actually came on, which is amazing considering i have it set at 60 degrees, so i was cold this morning, course i grabbed my handy dandy heat packs and made them all nice and toasty warm, just in time to hand them over to dd, but then i went ahead and made more, i have several heat packs and am going to make some more rice packs. they are awesome either cold or hot. works better than store bought and a lot cheaper too lol

finished my dear friend janes shawl i was making her and will show pics as soon as i take some, she is going to love it i hope anyways after i finished that(which its my own design hehehe) i worked on another helmet liner, and finished another one tonight. i am so mad at bernat i could spit nails. i didn't catch it either till i was all done either, but i was using the desert cammo yarn, you know the one which has browns and tans and creams ect in it, well seems that 2 of their skeins i recently bought and made the helmet liners with, have shades of lilac and purple instead of brown. OMG was i mad, i made 4 hats like that, so now will give those to the rescue mission here in town and make more helmet liners. i had 12 done counting the 5 fran and another person sent me(thank you whoever you are i greatly appreciate it) so now am back to 8 but soon will make the difference up, my goal as some of you know is 40, think i will make it? i think i will especially if the people who said they would help me reach my goal send me at least 1 or 2 helmet liners, if not thats alright too, i can make them, am also hoping to write a little note card to tell them that i care about them and send them hugs from me what do ya think? think that would be alright?

well i also got my purse swap partner and will be getting busy and making you a awesome bag, large in size due to your having to bring alot due to your children who you need to carry things for. also am going to spoil you with lots of goodies, hehe

tomorrow will go to mil's again, is so hard for me to go there and see her like she is right now. please send good thoughts and prayers for her also.

well am off to crochet some more helmet liners. i figure if i do 2 a day will make it easy by the end of sept to have them all done.

what are you guys all up to/ any special projects? i also have a secret pal on the ville and also the mania . so am going to be a busy gal, which is just fine with me, besides making christmas goodies. not sure just yet what i am , but i know my sis and her kids will get something special. kaie my oldest niece, she adores what her aunti makes her. well till tomorrow or next time i blog which ever comes first lol, hugs and special thoughts for you all, take care and keep crocheting and stop in and let me know what your making, and show pics too if possible. will have picks of the shawl soon. till later by dear friends. god bless and keep you all hugggggs from me to you. :)

ack what a month already now
i am about at wits end, today while driving down meridian in puyallup- hubby says there is something wrong with the brakes in his car, the same one that just last week i spent big money on, as soon as we were able to get it back home i called the dealersm where we have all of our cars and truck fixed, and the manager said bring it in as soon as possible so we did, then we were still going to head up north today, a, we were headed for seattle center. did we get there ??? nope lol, dd got a call from her boss wanting her to come in so she said yes she would do that., so instead we went to point defiance which is a beautiful park, i will have to find som e pics of it and show ya, so now we await the news wether its small and easily fixed or if its going to cost me a arm and a leg. the funny thing was, son and hubby were going to head for las vegas this morning, but son also was called to work, i believe that things happen for a reason and we were not suppose to go to seattle today and the guys were not suppose to go to las vega otherwise the car would not havehad the brakes it did, so for this i am thankful, everythng for a reason and a time for everything. so i am thankful that we did not leave earlier and hit the freeway, otherwise would have been there and gotten stuck and even with towing, i can guarentee that no tow company is going to come 35 miles away from our home and would have cost us a bundle. thans for letting me vent, now am off to bed in hopes that tomorrow is a better day god bless and keep you all and hugggggggs from his ppk

finished 2 more purses today. omgosh so cute, one is copper colored chenile, very soft, am going to line it with maybe a tanish material, also am thinking about adding beads to it, give me some imput peeps please.Lol the other shines. the other purse i i used a a mixed yarn it has a very fine thread which also has a bit of lurex in it. not much and i took a pic so you can see them(hopefully that is lol) well the copper colored one is not quite true on the colors but what can one expect with a camera phone lol. the other one too is not quite true in its color, but as close as possible, will take better pics later with my "real" camera LOL huggs for ya all till tomorrow. god bless and keep you. waving goodbye as i fall asleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

In honor and memory of Michael R Horrocks

i want to let you know some my dear friends, this man was one of the souls who lost his life on 9-11, he was aboard united flight 38, the plane that the brave men and women american heros wrestled control from the terrorists and saved the lives of many people even while losing their own.

mr. Horrocks was 1st officer aboard this flight, he was 38 years young. he left behind a wife and child(ren). i do not know this family nor did i know Mr. Horrocks. my goal here is to honor a brave man who despite knowing he was going to die, helped wrestle control of United flight 38 away from the cowards who highjacked this plane.

i have said and will say a prayer for these brave souls and mostly for the loved ones they left behind.

i also wish to thank the family of Mr Horrocks for allowing me the honor of telling you about him and also for helping me to put a face to one of the victims of one of the darkest days in american history,
we must not forget these brave heros, for they gave the ultimate sacrifice. to Mrs. Horrocks and your child(ren), i will also include a special prayer for you and your family. and will light a candle every day when i go to church for mass. and even the days i don't go to church, will light a candle for them here at home. your family

has gone through one of the worst things a family has to go through. for you isend good thoughts and prayers your way, and a hug too just to show you i care. my friends and i have talked about doing a quilt to honor the victims, and while some are not able to do that right now. i am going to make a quilt square with Mr. Horrocks name and his age on a square myself, then when this quilt is put together i can include it., this is something we have talked about and is a way to honor our heros. to the family, god bless and keep you. your in my thoughts and prayers and i will never forget the sacrifice your family has gone through to help keep this great country free. we will never bow down to cowards like the losers who cowardly took control of those fateful airliners that day thinking they could make a difference in their cowardly way of thinking. only difference they made was it made our country stornger and we pulled together for the victims and their familys. god bless and keep you, your loved one is forever remembered and never forgotten. hang in and try and remember. he helped save thousands of lives while living the ultimate sacrifice and giving his life along with all of the others who perished that horrible day. god bless and huggggggs and prayers for all of you

thank you for allowing me to tell the world about your hero, he is also my hero now too, because now i have a face and a name to know and when i pray for his family that they may have some peace. 2001 seems so long ago in some respects. but not in this respect. only time will help heal your sorrow, some days will be good others bad,but your hero will always be mine too. thank you for letting me say this.

hey ya all
hey ya all, been a while since i blogged, there are a few reasons for it too, mostly i am so darn tired at night i forget to read let alone write in a blog.

starting with the 23rd of july as some of you know was our 27th anniversary is the 23, but the kids and inlaws made a happy day for us inspite of all of the issues going on with mil, on the 22nd, was very very nice. then on to the 23rd. i fell again and this time i smashed my self up pretty bad, i skinned my knee like right on the knee cap and life in general has been a downer. then on sunday the 30th, i fell again and broke the knee cap open worse. i swear i am having a meltdown lol.but inspite of all the stress and pain and issues, i have been very blessed to have gotten some awesome roaks and holidays in july. also have been able to send a bunch out which made my day. on monday was able to get jacquis package off along with some goodies for her and her family which makes me so happy. not much else going on. trying hard to figure out a way to make something differernt. finally finished the fluffy stuffy for miss kitty over on the crochetmaniac board, now just need to get her addy once again and need to send it to her i hope she likes it, i made a couple things and frogged them as they turned out awful, and one thing i refuse to do is give someone something i would not like myself have missed not talking to ya all, but my yahoo has been all messed up, finally got it fixed i think

i got some awesome deals again on crochet books at half price books, imagine only paying 5.00 for a hardback book from either annies attic or leasiure art books which charges way more than that, and its not old books either, is books that are new and date. a note to anyone who quilts, they have the most awesome selection of quilting books i have ever seen. i have been wanting to get in and make my hubby a special quilt although i doubt i will, he seems to have the same concept as his mother, if its nice its to nice to use. case in point , the star afgan i made for my hubbys birthday, ended up waiting for some one to love it( another case is my mil) i made here a nice quilt 2 years ago and its just beautiful, it to sits on the back of the couch.GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, oh well its hers and also hubbys and they can do what they want. but i want my special things around me so i need to make myself something special i am thinking. i wish i had gotten the quilt my grandma and i worked on together, but as most of her good stuff it just disapeared along with many other items. i have fond memories of grandma and i sitting at the sewing machine and sewing these little pieces of material into stars then pressing them ect. maybe thats what i will make a quilt, i have tons of material as well as other stuff like ummm yarn as i blush lol

I sent out sonias replacement yarn , taught me a valuable lesson, to not use the post office and to get ins, my dealings have been very frustrating for not just me but sonia and kathy also who i am sure felt like she was not getting her moneys worth. but i honored the deal as it was my fault that it was not ins and tracked and now can only pray the post office can find it and deliver it. so sonia hon, it is on its way, hope ya like it alot. i tried to duplicate the other yarns hon best as i could. anyways i know you will love it sweetie.

any ideas as to what to make, i am just at a stand still, fran and i talked about maybe making some bags with pacific coastal animals on it perhaps. well best close and hope this will post as it said that i lost my internet connection till tomorrow, god bless and keep ya all hugggggggs till tomorrow my friends. Keep crocheting away
