howdy ya all

this last weekend, hubby and i went up to seattle to the freemont oktoberfest, it was a beautiful day and we only ran into the troll who guards the bridge over freemont one time. here it is

while this is not the actual stone one which guards the bridge

http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/WASEAtroll.html this little bugger is, the one we saw and i have pictured was made by a seattle artist who made it out of paper mache and then clear coated it so it would not melt in the rain. we had a great time although it was rather diffucult for me to ride there and back, but i managed to do so. i saw this raw silk yarn they had for sale, the vendor wanted 8.00 a hank which i would suppose to be about 3 ounces, needless to say i did NOT buy it as it was just nasty sorry looking yarns..

sunday we watched the seattle seahaws beat the new york giants (sorry giant fans) with what appeared to was going to be a wash out for new york, yet they came back and brought it to within 12 points and thats what the seahawks took the win for, moral of this story, don't count your little seahawk eggs lol, , and yes i am a seahawk fan and am glad that they won the game.

we then went and visited my mil and she is just very very fragile, each week i see her fading away to almost nothing.is just very hard to see. :(

then on the other hand today i had AWESOME news, i have been so worried about where i was going to get the next 1000.00 for our taxes, and i had had my doctor fill out a disabled tax payer card for me, and since our income is less than the amount that is covered then i though well maybe we will qualify, well not only did we qualify so i got a reduction, we don't have to pay anymore this year AND we are getting money back. thank god we finally are getting a small break anyways. is a sad sad world where one person can change others lives so horribly and they don't get a break in anyway, thats what had happened to me until today, i found that there are good people in this world and that our government does truly care, i am soooo happy i cried right there in the assores treasurers office, the girl who helped me was sooooooo very kind. thank god there are people who can make a difference, i do my best to be the kind of person that i would want others to be for me. tomorrow will tell you all about my yarn haul i made last week teee heee lol hugs to you all and god bless and keep you all

howdy
been a while since i posted anything, sorry bout that, been busy and then i fell and smashed my face a bit, but am feeling better now , i have been busy crocheting to my little hearts content.finished the tote for my swap with aunt debbie and am almost done with the scarf. also am enjoying the secret pal swap.

the days have been so gloomy here. sunshine is a thing of the past around here. they are all gone and now fall weather has moved in.

last night i was sitting relaxing and i heard this bang bang bang on the door to the rec room, i opened it up and there was coast, standing on his back legs smacking the door with his head, he was lonely and cold, wanted someone to come in and visit with him And turn their little heater on, is amazing how spoiled my cats really are lol

found some new friends on the chat room at the fiber freaks board. very nice crochet forum with alot of new friends and several old ones. was nice chatting with them all

what have you all been up to, as i said i finished my tote, but don't want to post cause then she might see it lol, sounds like the one she made me is so awesome. i can't wait hehe

today went and bought hubby some new shoes, cost me a blooy fortune, 135.00 to be exact, but these boots are nice ones and since he is not going to be able to retire in the near future, then he needed good solid boots as he is on his feet all day long

i am debating wether or not to go to the fair, after what they did to lori my friend who makes the most awesome doily's, they only gave her honorabe mention and that was so unfair, i might have to work hard to not open my mouth if i do go, although i like to see the awesome work people do, oh well will decide some other time.

my birthday is fast approaching, amazingly enough i am going to be 50 years old, or is that young, its a wierd feeling being half a century old.

in 50 years so much has happened. so much more for my generation the baby boomers who have so much going for us, should be thankful that we are all able to be here and live with the changes, i remember when we got our fist television, i was 4 years old, my parents had little to no money so we just did not have a tv. i remember to this day how exciting it was to watch tv and see the adds and shows in black and white,

then came color a few years later for us.color tv had been around for a while but we didn't have it even though my dad had gotten a better job.. it was amazing to watch all of the shows in the 60's we didn't get to watch alot, we were kids and kids played outside alot, we didn't have video games or stereos in our rooms, cell phones, our own tv's, we had if we were lucky a small transistor radio, and it came with a tiny ear plug that you could barely hear out of it lol, i remember the first video game system
actually i have it its called pong, i also remember the times of unrest, when kennedy was elected president and when he was shot. i remember the 1st man on the moon and when martin luther king was assasinated also, good times and bad that was the turbelence of the 60's when the 70's came so did high oil prices, yet today i would dance a jig to have the high prices we had then as the ones we have now far outweigh the inflated prices, i remember sitting in line at the gas station and sometime splitting the time with hubby as we had 2 cars.well a car and a truck lol, and how mad people got when they had to wait to get 10 gallons of gas, thats what we were allowed

to me its just amazing to see how much things cost

i met my hubby while visiting my aunt and uncle and they lived right next door to him, and to this day we both can't believe how fast we fell in love. marriage is something i take a serious stand on, for myself, yet i have no opinions on others as they need to make their own decisions on wether or not to get married or even to stay that way. hubby and i have been married for over 27 years. can't believe how fast i have gotten old. is 50 old? some say yes, that when you are the one turning it like me, right now i can honestly say i feel old.

life gives us these challenges, right now my challenge is to deal with my back pain on a daily basis. it is getting worse yet they did all they could(the docs ) life moves on faster some days other days seems as if they will never end

today i worked on some comfortghan squares for gina, she has a special lady she wants to make a comfortghan for and i am glad to help,

well enough of my whining about getting old, i refuse to admit i am old, even thougn i already am , tomorrow is another day. god will help me make it through the day let alone another year.

i took my car down for emmisions , i hate that, its so unfair when someone lives out of town a ways, they don't have to worry about the emissioms even though they are overhalf of the reason the roads are as crowded as they are. work on the cross base highway is suppose to start sometime in the next century , that will help traffic to slow down

i saw on pac ave that there is going to be a light right on the street next to ours. wooohoooo hot dawg, we have needed a light there for years. thankfully it should help the traffic, o.k off my high horse now .

does anyone have anything really special they are going to make, i think i am going to try and do something free form, thinking possibly a sweater for my daugheter, or gasp maybe one for me, i can;t believe how old my kids are. amazing enough they both still live at home, my son says as soon as he gets a full position(please pray that he does very soon he is going to buy a house

and daughter is still at a loss as to what she wants to do with her life. so until she does and then does it i can almost guarentee she will live at home. thats alright, i make sure they help around the house which helps me
. well i am rambling on and its getting late, need to get off here and get some crocheting done before i head to bed. kari hon, am still praying for your family and especially your uncle sweetie. take care all of you dear friends, tomorrow is another day that never comes because tomorrow is never far away lol i know i am rambling, i promise i did not have anything to drink lol hehe, just am tired and i know your all probably snoozing now too, to all ofyou who are reading my words, i thank you, for all of you who post here , till the day of tomorrow god bless and keep you and hugs for you all, goodnight till tomorrow lol

sept 11th least we forget
on monday it will be the 5th anniversary of the most horrible act of terrorism that has ever happened to the united states.

recently i wrote a post in honor of one of the true american heros who gave his life fighting the terrorists on united airlines flight 38. i sit here tonight thinking about how much our country has changed since this fateful day, would you have it any other way? do you object to all of the changes that people have to go through just to get where they are going. personally, i say hey if its needed then we should not object. people have a problem though sometimes when "big brother" steps in and changes our lives. Mr Horrock, i know you did not die in vain, today our country is more prepared for these horrible things that these cowards have chosen to subject us all to, i recently saw on the news that the government had chosen to show binladen meeting with his cowards. i hope that some day this mad man is caught and that the world is a safer place. but will we ever really be safe again. i like to think its possible, as our troops fight the world terror, ours lives still are in danger. please take a few minutes this monday to ponder how this act of terror has changed your life. also please take the time to think about our heros who gave their lives that fateful day and continue to give their lives, the ultimate sacrifice in irag and afghanistan and other areas around the world, remember september 11th is patriot day, fly your flag and thank a vet or service member, please let them know how much you care. i have talked with alot of people who serve in the military. they are thankful for the people who care about them, your a american, show your support, . thanks for listening and reading this post. thanks for letting me say how i feel. to all of you who are out there with your lives on the line. i salute you. god bless you all and this great country we live in, hugs and blessings to you all

howdy
been a while since i actually sat down and blogged so here i am lol, not doing to much right now, working on a couple of squares for a comfortghan for the croc hunters wife and kids. as many of you know , the crocodial hunter died this week due to an encounter with a sting ray, which somehow pierced his chest wall and pierced his heart killing him almost instantly. well some of my fellow crochetfriends and i were talking and it was brought up that maybe we should make a comfortghan, when asked how we would get it to them, evidently they have the addy of th zoo he ws affliated with and also there was talk about terri's parents addy so i am almost done with the 2nd one and finished the first one so is almost ready to send off,

in other news i have all but 4 helmet liners done, just need to sit down and finish them now before i send them off to the troops

also am almost done with the shrug from the annies attic crochet magazine, its a pretty raspberry colored alure. so soft too, and then i need to finish a purse i am making for another swap. oh and also 3 ornaments' sheeesh its adding up now
lol lol also need to get busy making my dd's jolly roger sweater.

the weather here has been just awesome, nice warm days and cooler nights, getting cold our way and before ya know it, we will have frost,

oh boy did i make a haul today, walmart had its nobo, no boundry yarn

clearenced for 1.00 each skein along with some soft and fluffy baby yarn and some more nice yarn, alure, which is the yarn i am making the shrug out of :) anyways to make a long story short, here i am standing there trying to make up my mind which skeins to buy, when something came over me and it said buy them all, buy them all, buy them all!!!!! so i did hehehe 73.00 and 71 skeins of yarn tax ya all know is high here in washington state,

also tonight i picked a huge collander of green/purple/yellow/ and the heirloom ones which i don' know the name of but i still have the seed package. these beans are odd looking, they are long and flat yellow and light green, with purple blotches all over them, it really reminds me of when i was growing up and in our garden(which was huge) we always planted a long bean called oregon giant, beings as the bean was over 15 inches long at times hence the name.

also picked a few sweet 100 tomatoes and a medium size one. let me tell ua all, nothing and i mean nothing beats the taste of a fresh ripe tomato right off of the vine.

i had a scare tonight when itsy came up missing, she missed her dinner and that is not like her at all, she is always there for dinner, i called and called her, she was no where to be found. i finally gave up and came inside. well in just that short period of time , my son came home, and called and called her, we had tried everything eslse' finally here she comes, popping her little head over the fence, little stinker so all is well in my little world, till tomorrow(or whenever i manage to post, somehow i find myself so tired that i don't want to even do anything, well dear friends and new ones too, god bless and keep you safe from harm,so from me to you, giant hugs and happy hooking , and knitting too, goodnight

HUGS

where did the summer go
where did summer go i ask, hard to believe that it is september 1st, summer has come and gone once again for another year(unless your in australia or places due south.)

children around the world are moaning and groaning as the new school year begins. gone is the carefree days of summer where they could run around barefoot and play till dark, even catch fire flys.

gone are the days of wanting to go to the beach or river to relax after a long hot day at the office. gone are the carefree days of eating ice cream cones or having a grilled hot dog. gone but not forgotten.

soon the leaves will start changing soon, beautiful colors of gold and red and brinze.

soon the holidays will be upon us, but the one thing we can always count on, is that

summer once again will come around. once again 9 short months soon will flow back into

the dog days of summer. what did you do on your vacation?

what i did was a variety of things. first i started it out by wracking my leg and muscles up, tore a tendon and quite franly, screwed myself up by not watching where i was going

at the begining of june i decided that while my time was not i wanted to do something to help our armed service members keep happy and warm, what i decided to do is called helmet liners.

i made a goal to myself and others that i was would make 40 hats to help our brave warriors warm, to this date i have 34 made and soon will reach the
goal, now my question for myself is HOW DO I STOP !!!! i have gotten so i can make these babyes faster than you can say awww to a squirming baby.

so will keep you posted as far as my helmet liners go, i have had some help with a

few of them , 5 to be exact, tyhe rest i did myself, 3 made by a special friend , and another 2 by my buddy fran who lives in texas, when being told abut what i wanded to do, right away jumped and knitted 2 more.

i am also working on christmas presents as i sit here an type away lol

am almost done with a shrug for my oldedest niece. she loves her presnts she gets from me.

well is late and i am beat. till tomorow i bid ya all a great day ahead and a awesome night, happy crocheting my friends
