my latest project
tonight i started a project i have been wanting to make for quite a while now. is a filet picture of the statue of liberty with the words god bless america at the top. am planning on making this and then having it professionaly framed using a nice bright royal blue background, or maybe red, or if i can find some material, red , white and blue that isn't to much of a print. and then am going to do 1 of 2 things, either am going to keep it and hang it up, or sell it on e-bay(hey i can always make another one) and then when i get it done am going to start on my next big project, the cathederal rose afghan and then a wedding gown done in crochet. i know sounds like a lot of work, but one never knows when ones daughter might decide to get married (hint hint hint daughter LOL) or can also sell it on e-bay. i love e-bay soooooooooooo much LOL. here is hoping that if you are traveling this holiday weekend that you have a safe happy trip and arrive at your destination in good health and also safe. for those of you like me who are staying home i also wish you all a great and happy and most of all a SAFE happy 4th of july. god bless ya all and this wonderful country we live in and the people of the armed services who are putting their lives on the line, i salute you. stay safe and have fun hugs

mondays mementos
hi, today was not to bad, this weekend hubby and i went over to some friends house, they live right on puget sounds which has a wonderful view, we bbq and enjoyed their and another couples friendship, now hubby is telling me he wants to have a HUGE amount of people over for 4th of july, i am like ummmm ummm ummmm honey? who is going to clean the house and cook all the food, he says "you" i said NOT, so we are now debating how many people to invite over. we have a covered patio so if it does rain(which they are saying it is going to :-( ) then at least i won't have to have everyone in the house. of course when the kids found out we were going to invite people over, they voted(between themselves LOL) that they should also be able to have friends over, how did a little gathering of a few people turn into such a big party i ask you. dd has alot of her friends coming, ds same thing and hubby and i are like heyyyyyyyy wait a minute you guys. so at last count seems like we have about 20 people coming, there goes the steaks i was going to cook and now its a good old american 4th of july with hamburgers and hotdogs, potato salad, watermelon, the whole thing, and we can still use fireworks here in our community so are planning on shooting some of those off too(course kittys will be inside) and we also tell the neighbor ahead of time so they can put their dog in. she HATES fireworks. poor baby. so i have a question for all of you, what do you do on the 4th of july. do you celebrate it traditionally or have your own traditions? i am just a curious person so if ya all want to respond that will be great. also any suggestions for games. we have about 9 or 10 young adults(kids i say hehehehe) with a huge amount of energy and i really want to keep them occupied LOL. until later i bid you farewell, hugs to all :)

hello from me to you :-)
tonight hubby and i both cooked dinner. he grilled pork chops that had been marinated in rosemary and thyme(lemon thyme at that) and also had some garlic on it. i made steamed fried potatoes, i know i know, what the heck is steamed fried potatos. well ya cut them about in 3/4 in slices, then put in a pan with a lid on medium heat. i seasoned mine tonight with parsley and also chives, no grease or oil, but because it was steaming was not sticking. was very good too. also had home made garlic italian herb bread. i bake a loaf almost everyday as my family loves it so much we also had corn on the cob, mine was alright, i guess it isn't really corn season in washington state. LOL, . then after dinner we went a a friends house. who live in steilacoom, which is the oldest city in washington state. they live on a hill over looking puget sound and the islands there. what a beautiful site it is too. lucky them. our friend steve built the house himself, and i must tell you, he did a wonderful job, wish i had pictures to show you. maybe they will let me take some hehehehehe and their house is wonderful 3 level and just awesome, i so wish mine looked like that, but then on the other hand, they owe a lot on theirs(so they told me) but mine is all paid off which is a much better deal i am thinking. hehehehehehehehe.
tonight after we got home, sat outside for a while and crocheted , got dark, but we had lanterns going to keep the bugs away and could see that way too. so am making some more baby squares. i promised rebeccav some for a comfortghan she is doing, and then decided to just use the whole skein of yarns up and make some blankets for other babies in need, not sure who i am going to give them to, yet, but am leaning towards the pineridge reservation that dr. mom was telling about. poor little ones, gets darn cold back there and if i can help 1 person then i am happy. well am off to bed so for now goodnight. hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow and a great weekend. hugs to you all

all went well

thursdays trials :-(
hi ya all, been a while since i posted. my life seems to be more busy and stressed than ever. last night someone decided to be stupid and broke into my car, they didn't get much, just a little gas, but they decided that they had to mess it up a bit too, so hubby is going to have to see if he can fix it. some people are so stupid. called the sherrifs office, deputy responded, and omg could he talk, was telling me about all the crime going on around here, giving me pointers(which i already knew, but was to polite to tell him otherwise), but he said if i have any more problems let him know. gave me his card and i will call and ask for him if i need to, am waiting for my next door neighbor to get home to make sure nothing was stolen out of his house. there was some stuff between his and my house, deputy took that stuff, i sure didn't want it around, thats for sure. but the hardest thing for me today is my cat "baby"(her real name) for some reason she is scared so bad she is just quivering. i held her and she shook so bad had to put her down. she most defiently was straumatized by these creeps. wonder what they did to her. tonight hubby and i will be ready for them. they will be back as they left their stuff, toooo bad cops have it now LOL.
i have been busy crocheting alot too. making stuff for work and also as gifts and some stuff to sell, also am donating some stuff to childrens hospital in seattle through my good friend tandy. she is going to actually take the stuff to them thanks tandy :) finished another poncho last night. made it out of homespun vanilla color. OMG is it beautiful. to small for me though, but i might make myself another shawl(never can have to many shawls) with the rest of the yarn. also made a little flapper hat to go with it which i will post as soon as i can take some pictures. my darn computer was gone for afew days, had to send it into HP for service, the ac adapter pin broke and couldn't get it to charge(is a laptop) so they sent fed ex for it, then fixed it and sent it back and quite quickley i might add, customer service is something this company does very very well. well am off to do some housework*gasp*, not my favorite at all hehehe, need to finish planting my garden too. might do that this after noon. well till later you all behave and take care. HUGS

we have kittens!!!
today when i came home from mamas house i heard this little meowing coming from our woodpile. i thought oh no not again, as it seems like every year we have kittens take up residence there from the neighborhood ferril kitties. as i was standing there looking, out popped a littl gray/black baby kitten, i would say maybe 3 or 4 weeks old. he saw me and instead of being scared, he came right up to me, i didn't pet him though as he is a wild cat and i wanted his mama to move him along somewhere else besides my woodpile LOL, well after being chased around the yard by this kitten, i came in the house. i looked out a few minutes later to see if it was still around, and i found it chasing east coast , my siamese around the yard, was sooooooooooooo funny, this little bitty kitten was chasing my full grown cat around the yard, he was afraid of it, as was baby my female kitty. is tooooo cute and funny so thought i would share and give ya all a laugh LOL hugs

mamas home
i just wanted to let ya all know mama came home today. i am so tired tonight, but it is a good tired. as i know she is safe and now happy in her own home. doc says she is doing great and don't need to return for three months which will give me a well needed rest as i have been taking her every 2 weeks since janurary. just wanted to tell all of you who have been there for me and mama a big thank you. with you guys i felt so much better cause when i needed a ear, there was always one there. your the best bunch of friends a girl can have, and i thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and mamas too. LOL hugs
