help i am drowning in yarn

hey all, want to help this poor old lady swim her way to the top of the yarn pile? omgosh this weekend hubby decided to clean his garage out, in the house came 8 more boxes of yarns and stuff, i said where did this come from, having forgot my son snagged it and put it out there about 6 months ago, i am soon going to have more yarn to get rid of., anyone want to buy some from me, i sell cheap , really cheap lol, i was able to go through a couple of the boxes today but omgosh, i a worn out thinking about it. i admit it peeps i am a yarnaholic (sticking my tounge out) this weekend all we did was work around the house, hubby wants to have this HUGE party for the 4th(i am so against this, i remember what happened last time we did this)but is his wish and since he does not ask alot of me and generly lets me have my fix when it comes to yarns, i told him i would do my best to get this done and finished so we can repaint the inside of the house before the big shindig, HA, i will be suprised should he paint my toenails let alone the house, is the truth have had the same ugly color in my kitchen since i moved here 30+ years ago.maybe i would be more inclinded to grt my stuff done should he actually do the work he says. hehe

i got my Crochet mag the other day and dd says there is alot of things she wants to have me make for her(seeing this could be a few choice christmas presents i thought to myself wooohoooo) its very interesting whats in there and while some it will not appeal to, her it did, woohooo.


not up to much else, have pt for my leg again tomorrow, just when i thought it was getting better, my leg cramps up on me and i fell this morning. yes i am alright , but madder than hades because now i have to start the therapy pretty much all over again, i have hideous bruises on my leg and hip. just when ya think its getting better, something jumps up and bites ya in the rear. maybe its a temporary pain and will go away before to long(one can dream can't one) i am almost done with my lovey for Ro's babies, would have been done along time ago with the other blankie i made, but my dear darling 3 year old niece, miss abby, decided she wanted a blankie for her baby and this one was to big and she somehow got scissors from here when sis was visiting and decided to cut her self a new blanket. needless to say, i cried when they left.my sister was moritfied and i told her no don;t worry was not your fault, was mine for not hiding the scissors, and while you might be thinking abby could have been hurt? they were safety scissors, blunt ends and used for scrap booking, now of course my main mission in life once i finish the blankie for Ro is to make said niece a blankie for her baby.jeeze lousie.

well my dear friends am off to bed as i have therapy again tomorrow and while i am not feeling so hot i will try and refrain from screaming as i go through the steps for stretching.

i want to especially thank my dear friend whos hubby serves in the air force, and while he serves in "active duty" donna serves in the reserves, making sure things are going smoothly.

i just wanted to pop in here and say thank you to all of our wonderful military familys, this memorial day, take a few minutes to tell a service member and their family that you appreciate them and all they sacrifice. for without we would not be the free nation we are today.

i have not blogged in a while as i have been cleaning out my craft room and trying to depart with some of my yarn stash. i have been selling a but of it and also for some of my friends who payed postage i sent them a box of yarn or 2 or 3 hehehe, but of course i have to also build up my stash of other yarns. hehe, mostly i have been selling though.

its been a hard thing to have to do, but i really do have to much of stuff and need to just spread it around lol


what are you all doing for this holiday weekend? we were going to go to the ocean for the weekend, but when i saw how much motel and hotel prices are at the beach well lets say it is not happening. not sure what we are doing besides having a bb, i know one thing i am doing is thanking our military past and present, yes even future for their sacrifices..


well need to do some more picking out what i am getting rid of and selling, so am off to do that, if ya don't hear from me soon, call the yarn police and tell them to start looking for me as i have been yarnnapped LOl hugggs to all of you vicki

mothers day

my mothers day was a day filled with happiness and some sadness. first the good stuff lol hubby and kids let me sleep in as long as i wanted( i snoozed till 10 hehehe then my son made me breakfast, he mae the most yummy thin pancakes and also he fried bacon up for us(i know that its way bad for me hehe but once in a while , ya just got to be bad LOL!!!) had that along with a glass of sunny delight. all of the good things for breakfast, then hubby offered me the newspaper first dibs on the paper (i ususally get it when everyone else has read it amd i get stuck trying to put it back together lol, then i went outside and saw my fur babies. itsy was so tired this morning, lol. i guess she stayed up late chasing things around lol, well after all of this i sat dowm with my crocheting and started working on a special present i am making my secret pal, sure hope ya like it hehe,. then we went over to lowes to find mil something. we found her a lovely lilly plant with 20 blooms on it. well then we went over there and enjoyed ourselves, the kids gave me a new shirt is darling has k0 had a bbq for dinner hamburgers which are so not my favorite but is my mil so i said that fine. the sad part is i thought about mom all day. she was in my thoughts allllll the time. every mothers day
i would always buy her a huge bottle of her favorite scent, gloria vanderbuilts. she loved that perfume and i was the only one of all 5 of us kids who would think to buy it or have enough money to buy it . i splashed some on myself and it in a way helped me more than anything.HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MOM i love and miss you so much.

then i crocheted some more, and now am blogging, thats my day, how was yours those of you who are a mom happy mothers day, i hope you were spoiled right nice and until tomorrow i say see ya and send ya one of my huggggs. god bless you all

its friday woooohoooo hot dawg!!

today was interesting to say the least. i had taken those bugs that hubby dug up out of the garden down to the wsu extension center to see if they could identify them. there were 5 of the master gardeners in the office and not one could identify that bugs either, i left them there as the master bug man will be in on tuesday and it will be interesting to see what they actually are. i hope they are nothing horrible as i am a organic gardener and i would hate to have to use something i don't want to.

then i went to costco, boy oh boy, we spend so much there every year, was actually glad to upgrade to the executive membership as i make as much as they charge
. how that works is you are guarenteed at least in this program.still for some reason can not get photobucket to open, which is so dissapointing, well maybe tomorrow,


am bored with all of my projects. i seriously want to make something that jumps out at me. something people will ohhh and ahh , any ideas?, i am currently working on a few things. my partner over at crocher maniacs is reecie, and i am making her a couple of cute things(at least i think they are cute i hope she does too) i also joined another secret pal swap on crochetville. and i think we are also going to have one on the crochet maniac site also. is sooo fun swapping with others and trying to keep it a secret. my last partner who i sent to did not have a clue and when i found out it was michelle who was my sp i was sooo suprised, i got some awesome stuff too. she and her daughter had made some bath goodies and i got beeswax candles and omgosh soooo much. knitted and crocheted washcloths. so soft and lovely.


well i had a little crying bout tonight when i started thinking about mom once again, mind you i am weeping for myself and my siblings no for mom, cause mom is the lucky one and has peace. today my dd made a photo collage and it had a lot of pics of mom and me on it, which while she did it to make me happy,it made me sad(she did not know this as i am a expert at hiding my feelings ) but now thinking about it its a nice thing to have. hey mom, happy mothers day. i love and miss you

on another note, i will be needing to go through more of my yarn stash. i have gotten rid of probably 30% of it, but hubby has a point, the room needs to breath, and that seriusly causes me to have to destash probably about 6 more boxes. if any of you are interested in buying any let me know. i of course will take pics so you could see, but most of the boxes would have maybe close to 50.00 worth of yarn and all i am asking i 15.00 plus postage. i saw a post the other day from someone on e-bay had less yarn than i and sold it for about 35.00, so see folks i am 20.00 cheaper. please let me know if your interested. i also am selling lots of yarn. i have several balls of ping pong yarn by benat, in almost every color they have. am asking 3.00 a skein for that(this yarn sells for 6.00 a skein) and if you buy 9, then the 10th is free, will also combine shipping if you want. i also have patons pebbles yarn, and alot of other yarns. am hoping to get them up here on my blog once photobucket starts working . also am selling alot of my work, if your interested, make me a deal, if it sounds good i might just make ya a deal, i figure it this way

in hopes that some day someone might buy it, or i can maor both of us. well i am off to bed, am so tired tonight. all that walking around at costco wore me out. oh for those of you would have been such good friends, tonight i sat up with my leg down on the floor, i have not been able to do this for 3 weeks, also this morning i was able to crawl back into our bed and actually slept for a couple hours this morning, so told hubby i was going to try and sleep in our bed once again, sure its quiet out here but its not comfortable at all to sleep on the love seat either, kk now i am real going LOL huggggs to all of you. god bless and keep you all in his loving arms. jesus loves you all and so do i in friendship i bid you good night

how was your day?

today i had pt, physical therapy should really be called pain and torture lol, but my therapist debbie is awesome. she knows exactly which muscles to move to make the problem areas better. today she actually worked on my back and while it hurt like the devil, it is not bad tonight which i thought it would be. she uses acupressure and omgosh is awesome as far as helping me. when i say owww she backs right off. i woud highly recommend her and the clinic where i am going.


well after that had to go to town to see about a few things and me being the always thinking yarn fairy that i am, decided to go to michaels(shhhhh don't tell joanns lol) and i found some awesome bargains. mode odea ticker tape ribbon yarn. normally sells for around 9.00 a skein, well today they must have seen me coming, i found alot of this wonderful yarn for only 1.00 a skein, yep you read that right. 1.00, i guess they figure will just super clearence it out so the new stuff will have a home. thought about going to handcocks which is a fabric/yarn shop here, but refrained as i was sooo good
, well i was bad, but just not at handcocks lol, i also bought from michaels 6 skeins of a lovely shade of pin/rose patons grace, i love this yarn/thread, i am going to combine it with a rose colored lurex and make a shawl. speaking of, i have been winding yarns and will soon have them posted on my site for sale.just have to get the pics uploaded. i also bought some size 3 thread as it was such a lovely color of blue,, i then left the store while i could lol more later on that lol


then i drove to joanns by the tacoma mall, and proceded to buy several yards of patriotic material, i want to make a awesome quilt, not a big one, just one big enough to sit warmly with. i know its not even summer , but i wor slow with fabrics, lol i also bought enough of the other material to help make my purse liners and also have decided i am going to try and make a patriotic purse out of the materials too, i also grabbed 2 bags they had on sale. its a summer type bag great for carrying your towel and stuff when you go to the pool or beach or if your like me, i will use it for a fast crochet project bag to carry along. i have a tendacy to carry much more than i need and its stupid cause it makes the bag to heavy for my back then i hurt and the cycle repeats itself yadayadayada. when d saw the bags she quicly grabbed the one i thought she would like and said oh for me?:-), i said well sure why not. tomorrow since its her day off i am going to have her help me finish my craft room and then that will be done so i can move into the kitchen and go through it all and get rid of what we don't eat/or use. is all good things, but if your like me,, when your shopping something jumps out at you and you think oh that sounds good, i will make this when i am not feeling like cooking(which lately has been alot as i can't stand on my leg much.) but then when i approach the family about what would they like for dinner, suddenly my quick easy meal has gotten stuffed in the back of the cupboard. see i have something to admit to, i am a huge packrat, and i mean HUGE, i so have decided that what i am going to do is the things i am doing with my craft rooms. find it all good homes, maybe make a little money on the side. yadayada, i have taken pics of several of my old pattern books that i am wanting to sell and hopefully tomorrow i will be able to list some of them. i mean these are old, like frm the early 30's i think there is even one where its more like the early 1900's, like 1909 or something like that. i also have a ton of newer old crochet books from the 70's on to present. i will be listing these here before i try and sell them on e-bay, if there is a particular book you are looking for(besides the cathederal window afghan one,) then either leave me a message here or over at the ville send me a pm or also at crochetmaniacs. i can retreive messages at all places

i even found one on irish crochet that i am debating keeping, although i was also thinking of someone who might enjoy it more than me. will have to think on that one for a while.


today started out pretty nice then got kind of ick for a while but then cleared right up, very nice. we are suppose to even have temps in the low 80's the first of the week wohoooo.course everyone will bitch and moan about how hot it is, its either to hot or to cold, never just right for some people. me, if i am cold, i grab a sweater, if i am to hot and its a really hot day. i drive my car with the ac on to the mall or where ever its cooler. lol, i wanted to get a air conditioner for here but that would also have to consider removing a window and putting the darn thing in the window, which while is nice to have the cool air, there have been several cases last year and am sure will be the same this year, of people actually breaking into ones home while yanking the ac out of the window frame. while most people are honest your going to find more than a few who are just looing for a easy targer.


tonight i visited with princess trish(oh hey girl i got something else for you hehe0 and donna and also jacqui down in oz land. today jacqui FINALLY got her package i sent well over 3 months ago, i sent her a bunch of different coffes and i suppose the custom dogs smelt the coffee and figured there were drugs there. sorry doggies, only coffee as i don't do illegl drugs ever. she said she has never seen so many different kinds and flavors of coffees, i sent her 12 different packages of coffee. she should be getting her next package too, she bought more yarn from me, and while it was a profit, it was not such a amount as to break her. i so hope she likes her next package. hehe, decided to not tell you jacqui darling lol

sad news today also, i heard on the 5 oclock news that a 2 year old toddler and fallen out of a 2nd story window and landed on her head on concrete. please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers. i personally of course donot know them, but it still made me so sad for her and them, i pray that she is alright and not permently damaged or even worse killed from this fall., if i hear any more will update you right away. thanks for caring about this child. i hope she survives quickly.

today played with my fur babies, itsy was chasing her pink string i made her around and around the yard, was so cute, then coast (the siamese) he comes strolling out yawning as if to say, hey pay attention to me, and for baby i am not sure how to describe her. think a quiet,shy,tasmanian devil, HAHAHAHAHA, she gets into her moods and is so cranky want to shush her up by putting her in her bed, course the last time i did that, i still have the scratche scars from her.

sunday is mothers day, this day is going to be hard for me, the one day i could honor my mother is really going to be hard for me this year since mom is still so much a part our lives, we won't forget her ever,


am going to try and get some pics on this blog tonight but if not then maybe tomorrow when any of you come calling lol

well its done, sorta lol

today helped(meaning showed and informed hubby where things were to be going in the new garden time) hubby with the new herb garden he built today.( yes i give him full credit) we had decided that we really did not need this huge garden area that we had made into the herb beds when we moved the main garden last year. we moved it where it would get more sun, it started off being where our maple tree was, but since this tree was totally rotten inside and we were worried it might fall and damage the neighbors green house so had it taken down. i cried though, as it was a old growth maple, well over 150 years old.(i counted the rings). but it had to go so away it went, well last year in its place we planted the main garden their and believe me, it was well worth it. this is the area where we had tomatoes that were well over 9 feet tall. hehe, well today was one of those cold dreary days and i was glad that we were able to get it all done before it rained which it is doing off an on now lol.


i started a new project for a friend on the crochet maniacs where i am a member as well as on crochetville. it is a nice place, come check it out some, it is a accesry swap and my partner is non rather that reecie. i am not going to say what it is just now as my swap partnere might read this blog. lol, needles tosay, hehe, nice try lol, well not much else to say right now so with no farther ado, here are some pics of the garden we made and worked on today, hope ya all had a awesome days huggggggs

what a

today was a nice sunny day, a day that i thought i could get in my car, go and get some fur baby food, hit the dollar tree for more yarn hehe, and then go to walmart, well it was packed as usual. tons of cars, limited parking, only thing miles away it seemed like, well as i was driving saw a couple of ladys getting ready to pull out of their spot, so i put my blinker on, stopped and waited for them to pull out, as i sat there patiently waiting, this suv is motioning me to ask if i want that spot, i nodded my head yes, again she motioned me
again i nodded my head yes, then she drove right up to my car window and says
you know that that spot is only for handicapped person, i said yes i know that, she then looks at me and says nastily, well then why are you waiting to park there, you don't look handicapped to me, i did not bother to even with that remark, as it was so stupid, it just angers me that because i drive a sportier car, and not some old lady, does not mean that i am not handicapped. and i feel is not their business to know how i feel or how my health is affected basicly i want to tell them to take their smart ass comments and stuff it side ways where the sun don't shine, and by that i mean their smart ass selfs lol.


then after i got in the store and am riding around in one of those cool carts that are electric, well i can not walk much right now and they are my saving grace believe me,the stupid thing bogged out in the frozen food section. thankfully one of the people who works at walmart saw i was having diffuculties and helped me put the cart in commision, and finally had to go and get another cart and put all te grocerys in that one, they were very kind and courtias at the store. helped me in any way they could. i wish i could tell their bosses how much i appreciated them today.


when i got home, hubby had already come home. major ohoh, i have to start getting home before him, he gets a tad upset cause i make him move his truck out of the way lol, anyways when i got home he tells me he wants to go and get gas for the mower, and also gas in his truck , which we did then came home and dropped it off. so son could mow the lawn. which he didn't do the little stinker, well tomorrow is another day, and i know he will do it. well then we went to the local hardware store called mclendons, is a family owned and operated business which i like to support,

and we got 8 bags of steer manure and also 4 huge bales of peat moss, my neighbors are going to hate me when that stuff starts seeping into the soil, which it will soon and make it a nice warm cozy place for my plants and seeds to grow.
