new forum

hi i just wanted to thank kathy and all of the mods who have worked so hard to make a new forum for those who were a tad dissapointed in another board that everyone belongs to, well kathys site is this

it has a lot of fun things and alot of very nice people, while i myself am not quitting the other forum, i will be a active member in both places, and yes i know alot of people feel that they want to leave the other board,but i am not one of them, and i am enjoy this board to.


this weekend has been interesting to say the least, hubby got up early, bought 5 am, woke me up as he headed out the door to go to work, i was so tired i went right back to sleep lol,


he was gone about 3 hours, did not have to work to long, now i am thinking, that was fast, then went back to sleep,. lol, i woke up about 10:30
daughter had gone to work, son was in his room working on his paper for his masters class in education, and i looked around more, no hubby, what did this hard working man of mine do even when i told him he did not have to do it all LOL, this man of mine who is dead tired now, cleaned out my veggie garden, is over 30 feet on both sides and almost 20 feet wide. i got dressed and went outside, this darling man of mine had cleaned the entire veggie garden out. he now has it ready to add the fertilizer, i am curious as the kinds of plants you all raise. this year i think we will go with a couple of heirlooms and a couple more traditional tomato plants and thats it . also will have beans peas, carrots lettuce, peppers ect. oh and going to try corn. (last year we went a little crazy with the tomato plants. grew 14 differnt kinds, and when we harvested we brought in over 84 pounds, yes pounds lol.)

will see if it gets hot enough to actually grow here, well friends i am off to crochet, have some blankies to make for a friend named Ro over at the ville' is for little ones who have lost so much due to hurricane katrina, i have one almost done and am ready to start another lovey as they are called. i hope these children find some comfort in all of those who has participated. when done with the blankies will take a pic and post for ya to see. night for now hugs and god bless and keep you and send special blessings for you all

another yarn set i have for you today is this awesome colbalt blue acrylic chenille. this color is very hard to find and is usually very expensive. today i am offering these 6 balls of yarn, aprox weight is just about 14 ounces or so, might be a tad more might be a tad less, i don't have a scale that measures the ounces yet but am going to get one. please note that while i try hard to make each ball of yarn the same amount, when winding by hand is diffucult to do. the price for this is 12.50 also, but does not include shipping and handling, will be actual cost of shipping plus a 2.oo packaging fee, i have to buy the envelopes to send it in and while they are not a lot of money they do add up, especially with the cost of gas so high. i will be adding more yarns in coming weeks. if you are looking for some and don't have it contact me, because chances are i do have it lol i will combine shipping also for those who are interested

hello to you all

it was a glorious spring day today here. nice and warm, a light wind to make it so it was not quite summer weather, but we love it.

today finished another poncho, that makes 3 this weekend. wooohooo on a roll aren't i, will post pics as soon as i upload them off of my digital camera
. i found that it is soothing relaxing and helps me take my mind off of my pain from my back and also the hips and also my legs getting old definetly is not what its cracked up to be lol.

today i went outside to get a little fresh air as i am feelig cooped up inside with my hip and leg, but figured it was nice enough out that i was not going to catch cold or anything at all, well then itsy(who is my terror cat!!!) she is fully
grown now and just the love of my life. she is such a sweetie when she wants to be, which is most of the time, once in a while she will nibble and then smother ya with kisses, well today she attacked my cane, yep she did she just did not like how i looked i guess with the cane, but i thank god i have her and my baby girl who is he older lady of the house , she loves us also but is so set in her ways she will reach out and smack itsy for no reason. he he he, and last but not least i have my seal point siamese, yep like the ones in lady and the tramp. he is very stuck on himself, but is truly a loving kitty. today i was able to sit there and pet him and he was fine.

i am curious as to what you all do with your "LOL spare time LOL", what do you like to do on the weekends or whenever you have spare time. what projects your making, what stitches your using
colors and textures. is awesome to see how many different ideas become a way to make your idea come true. knit or crochet or even some other craft. hehe byeeeee for now. huggggggs

thought i would drop in and say hello to ya all. not up to much cause of my leg and hip and since i am havig therapy, it seems a tad bit better. might be my
imgaination since i had the ultra sound, it seems to be a bit better.

one thing thats good is i am getting a ton of things crocheted, finished a poncho and am making another one, also made my friend trish i nice suprise and since she reads this blog, sorry can't tell ya hehehe. well just wanted to say hello, am off to try and sleep, thanks all for caring about me and sending me all kinds of good wishes and prayers. god bless you all and keep smiling and may you be able to crochet to your hearts content. god bless

hey ya all, got good news yesterday, it seems what is causing all of my pain is STRAINED MUSCLE under my hip area and following it through all the way down my hip and leg. while i am feeling a bit better, i still have a lot of pain, i start physical therapy on friday, hopefully that will not take to long, i am not a big fan of pt, but will do what i need to do to get better. there now i am done ranting lol


am working on the pineapple shawl right now, so far so good lol. got some pretty threads i am using, well my dear friends i realize this is short, but its hard for me to sit like this and type(have a laptop and its heavy on my hip lol) so to all of you from me, i wish you health and happyiness and good crochet time. god bless you all . huggggggggs and love from me to you. god bless

happy easter to you all

just want to wish you all a happy easter, if ya celebrate it and a happy day otherwise. our weather here is definetly not good egg hunting weather so will just not do it this year. is not that the kids really need to do it, its a tradition for our family, but guess this year will just skip it, what we are going to do, is since dd's b-day was tuesday and she wanted to go and spend the day with her friends so we said go ahead but have fun with her friends, we decided after much discussion, that we were going to combine her birthday and have it along with easter dinner at grandma's and grandpas. is a sad day for me really, i miss mom and dad so much, grand parents too, its hard for me as this is the first time i have not had them to see all together. sad but a necesarry part of life.

hi ya all, hope ya are all doing good. i am feeling alright, been busy with crocheting as much as i can. am hoping to get alot of things finished so when hubby and i go to the farmers markets this summer
we will do well and have enough products, am making purses too, and also backpacks, dish clothes, hot pads ect. a variety of things i am hoping will sell and make me some vacation money cause i need one bad lol


have decided to donate a shawl to crochetville auction. am wondering what color to donate. kathy says chartruse LOL but i don't think i want to make that color, anyone have any ideas? i want it to be something people want, yet not so its expensive for me so am debating what yarns to use and what colors. i am asking your opinions and hope you can tell me what you all like. i enjoy making things and am hoping it sells well.


our kittys are so happy with the sunshine we have had lately, but now the rain is back and we have not gotten any relief, well its spring in the pacific northwest.

yesterday was my daughters 22nd birthday, we had a nice time. i took her out to lunch at red robin as that is where she said she wanted to go, and when i told the girl it was her birthday, not only did she get balloons hehe, but she also was sang happy birthday to in italian which of course made my dd very happy as she has been learning italian.

well not much else going on in my life at the moment, have some boxes of yarn to send off this wee, for those of you who don't know what i am talking about, i have been cleaning my craft room out for a few days and still will have to destash some more. i have [promised several people who send me the postage money for the yarn that they can have it free of charge and while it does cost a bit to send(so far the most expensive has been 16.00) there is probably at least 50.00 or more of yarn in there so is a good bargain. will let ya know if i need to destash more, and if your interested and want to send me the money ahead of time i will be happy to send you some yarn., if i have any available. will let ya know. the reason i said ahead of time is this, i have done this 3 times in the last year, and while i was promised that i would recieve the postage back, only a few people actually did so now i have to ask for it before i send, you ask how will i know how much? is cause i will take it to the post office and have them weigh it. to make it short, is the only way i can possibly do it. so if i do have some left will post here and on the ville' and see who wants to pay postage lol

how was your weekend?

hi, hope ya all had a great weekend. hard to believe how fast it goes by. saturday i cleaned house all day and was so tired and hurting i knew i over did it, but hey the house looks good lol. i also went through more of my craft room boxes, in hopes of whiddling it down a fair amount, and while i tried hard to go through and just set it aside to be given away, i found it hard to give up my yarns and threads lol, but i did set aside i think was 6 boxes so far, although i certainly will need to destash more so will post and see who needs what and how much they will be willing to exchange for my yarns. right now am sending to teresa/kathy/and sue, all i need is postage and those babies are yours ladies. also am going to go through more of my thread as i have more than one woman can ever use and there is no reason for it. although i know as soon as i get rid of it, thats going to be the one color i need to have to finish a important project lol, ahhh life how strange it is indeed !!!! sunday hubby and i went for a lovely ride up to the mountain and surrounding areas. what beauty lays in my own sweet area of this part of the world, mt rainier was not visible as there was so many clouds, but is truly a national treasure. wish i could have taken pictures as you have got to see our famous mountian. this summer when the weather is nicer i will snag some pictures of it for all to see.

tonight i chatted with my friends on yahoo , went to the ville' to see if anyone was there but no one was, darn it, i wish that i could have chatted with fran. i miss her alot, hopefully tomorrow i can catch ner.trish and i chatted alot tonight. thanks sweetie for listening and lettting me vent, you rock girl lol. talked with donna and jacqui also. oh jacqui i will have a nice suprise headed your way in the near future. won't say what it is, but its a awesome goodie lol, donna you are like the energizer bunny, you keep going , and hardly ever stop, i wish i had your energy sweetie. anyways to all of you who are always here for me, thank you i know we all have moments when we need someone to lean on. you guys are the best. i feel so loved with you all. i am glad we are all friends. till tomorrow as i am headed off here to crochet. got some things to make and get on with life. go bless you all. huggggggs till tomorrow my friends sleep well love ya bunches and bunches :)

i am so blessed

yesterday i recieved a wonderful suprise from my friend jacqui who lives in australia, she is a fantastic person, and i wish you could all know her. i am very blessed to know this fine woman.

she sent me some amazing things. for the first thing she sent, this is it, a awesome beautiful shawl she made using the polish star stitch, is soooo awesome. will post pics in a minute

she also sent mea drop spindle and some rovings something i have always wanted to do, mae my own yarn spin it from nothing but rovings. she sent me tons of other things too includig this awesome jewelry set for both my dd and myself, not to share, we each got one what a wonderful gift.


things seem to be quieting down on the ville', thank goodness. what a situation that was.


i finished another shawl, and also a baby dress and a blanket. three wips i had had laying around and finally finished them wooohoooo,

right now am making a poncho out of red heart plush, its a very pretty blue color, not like what most people would want to wear, but am betting someone does,. i have a few more things in mind also. am also making a sweater for my niece kate, she is a freshman in college and i know how much she loves my stuff i make and will be happy t get it i hope. seems like yesterday my kids were babies, my neice is a beautiful 18 year old darling love ya sweetie well am hoping to get some pics in here and then am off to finish the poncho so tomorrow will have the whole day free. hubby is talking about going somewhere and just relaxing, after he works on his dada car. i so wish my fil was not quite the cheapskate he is, it would have been over and done with and all fixed, and then my hubby would not have to do it. i realize we are all they have, but ya know the time comes when it has taken over 5 hours already, and thats over a period of 2 days and nights, i wish he would pay to have it fixed although he says he would rather "pay' his son. this time i think said son would not be sorry to not have that money if it meant to crawl under that car. k rant it over sorry

what a day/week/month/year LOL

this message is for all of you who consider me your friend and i feel the same way about you. friendship is not something we are guarenteed, this is something we are blessed with. i am blessed to have so many friends on the ville' and elsewhere. what has happened the last few days i was not sure, only know what i was told and what i read , . when i joined this wonderful place called crochetville
i was so happy, i am sadden to see some of the members leave. certainly some who i consider friends but i am remaining neutral on that subject. the only thing i have to say is i hope we can get back to crocheting, the reason of crochetville. were we post our work and also ask any questions that we need to. i hope that those who left, find happyiness in their new home, althouh most will be in one place or the other, some will leave all together and this saddens me for, there will be some who i will miss, but i understand why you feel the need, but its sad it came to that. i for one who will be glad when things go back to the main purpose of our name crochet as in crochetville, see what i mean. i joined it to crochet, meet new people as a crafter and fiber artist.and for the most part i have accomplished this. i am content in my life i have on the forum as i feel strongly and caringly about many of you. as i know you do me. i hope we can all just crochet and sit back and be nice. . let hard feelings die away, life is way to short to be upset because of something some one said or did. i am glad that this place called crochetville exsists here where its open to any who wish to join and crochet to their hearts content. hugggggs to all of you my friends.
