sorry its been so long

hey ya all sorry its been a while since i last posted. gosh i almost feel like i am lost in space myself, we have had awful weather these last few days, first we had rain till we were floatin away, then the rain turned to snow and now we have freezing rain, oh joy another ice storm, grrrrrrrr, please don't get me started.

been working on some things for christmas, my dd's sweater which is coming along nice . have almost the whole front and back done. hubby thinks she will love it as much as i think she will, today she worked at the tacoma store, and actually listened to me and came straight home. she too felt it would be to dangerous for her to be on the road. thank god she used common sense. she was able to get her phone fixed. well dear friends i know this is short and sweet but i am dead on my feet and tomorrow i have to pay bills


will show ya some pics later, that i took of the snow. not much but the ice on it but thats more treacherous thn anything, hope that your night is full of ideas and fun and laughter enjoy this joyeous evening and i am so blessed to have such awesome and loyal friends. tonoght was so happy to talk with my mate jacqui, was talking to my newest friend shell and we all chated togeher, until we can chat again. god bless and keep you all love ya mates and merry christmas :)

alright admit it some of you did it, you braved the crowds the cold and the darkness to arrive at the spot where you can find awesome spectaculater wonderful things at a fraction of the cost. do i sound cynical, i am, i think its a cheap shot that retail does every year to drag people out of there sagging profit margins and make people that they have gotten a bargain, why not just lower the prices a bit and make it fair for everyone.

not everyone can or wants to run around like a harried mom running after a 2 year old who has gone crazy in the mall parking lot.

this year over half of my gifts are going to be handmade and i know that the ones who will be getting them appreciate how hard i work towards their present and how much work it truly is to have me make the gifts, but i am thrilled that dd for one willbe happy as a cat licking cream off of its face when she sees the sweater i am almost done with. she wanted so little this year, she knows how hard it is for me to budget enough to make gifts let alone buy them, i can't wait to see her face when she sees the jolly roger sweater. which i now have the sleeves to make and then to tie all those pesky strings of color off which i adhor. ah well life is nothing but a pulled string sometimes anyways.

tonight as we sat and watched movies with the folks i crocheted as i always do and finished a chemo hat for someone on the forum i belong to. i promised to make this persons brother a chemo hat, its done hon and will ship it out on monday, also finished most of my ornaments those will also go out in mondays mail.


tomorrow am considering addressing my christmas cards but alas am not able to finish the family newsletter i also send out. i need to sit down and think about what i want to write about. this year has been a very hard one for alot of us, not just my family , but many many peoples too, i sit here and think about my friend donna, who's hubby has been gone more this year than he has been home. i pray nightly for his safety and that soon they can be together,. hopefully very soon, i aso think of those who have lost love ones as i have, it hurts so much sometimes it makes me wonder why this happens this way, but i know god has a plan for us all.


kk enough stuff about things that we have no control over, well maybe not all of it cause my next rant is the weather lol, i am SICK of rain, it makes me want to bottle it up and send it to australia or someplace who has a draught.

and now the tempertures are growing colder., my son heard on the news tonight that we may have snow flurries this weekend and perhaps 1 to 2 inches of snow or more starting sunday and continuing next week to be colder and damper yet. poor shadow is going to have to start wearing a sweater if he is going to be out in the weather,. poor baby. tonight he was so precious. the other day when i was at pet smart i found a nice comfy little bed for him to lay on in the garage, tonight i put a small piece of fleece in his bed then layed him down, he started kneeding and purring he was so thrilled wih his new bed, it made my night believe me,


well am off to send my poor battered body into a vertical position and head off into a slumber filled with dreams where the poor turkey is running around with a hatchet screaming off with your head LOL just kidding, i doubt i will dream at all am just to tired. hubby is going out tomorrow to help one of his coworkers celebrate his 21st birthday and i dear friends am going to veggie out in front of the telly and crochet to my little hearts content

happy thanksgiving to you all

hi for a few, wanted to wish you all a happy healthy and safe thanksgiving. tomorrow is a day we sit down with family and friends if we can, others sometimes we can't but doesn't mean that we can't share a wish for a blessed holiday,

this year is sad for me, my first thanksgiving without my mom and my mil is so bad some days she can't even remember who we are. tomorrow we were going to just have ham, but both fil and mil threw such a fit that i said hec with it and bought a stupid turkey, they said how can it be thanksgiving without turkey, helloooooooo, the pilgrams ate more than turkey grrrrrrrrr. but then i thought to myself, what if its their last thanksgiving, is it really that hard for me to put a turkey in the oven (well yea it is but there will be someone who can do it) and why not give them something they want to eat. so off to the store i went, was going to buy a turkey breast and just cook that, but gosh they wanted 17 dollars for a turkey breast
and so i looked at the frozen ones and they were about 9.00 for a 13 pound one. so thats what i did , i had the meat manager pick one out for me and then lift it into the cart and then had the clerk lift it out and then a young man brought it out to my car. so anyways tomorrow as i cook that turkey i will be thinking of my family and how we always had so many for thanksgiving . i rememeber one year when i was about 10 that we had 35 people at grandmas house and she loved it. course my mom and aunt baked a seperate turkey and brought it too, and we enjoyed it alot,


well off that memory of the week, and on to my greetings for you lol

i hope that you have the best thanksgiving you can have. it might not be the one ya want but think of others who are not able to celebrate it. think of the men and women who are serving in the middle east and otehr places. and most of all, think of those who are less fortunet. to all of you my wonderful friends and family i wish you all the very best thanksgiving you can have, god bless and keep you, take care and if you drink please don't drive, or if you know someone who has to much to drink, offer to take them home and save a life.

sunday's musings

today was a bla bla day. i baked cookies, did laundry, played with shadow, and slept the rest of the day. i woke up about 2 pm and saw that shadow was without food so got dressed(no i still was not dressed) and went out and spent some time with him, he is such a loving boy, at night he snuggles into my arms and goes to sleep with me holding him, baby was acting wierd and i am worried about that since she never acts strange unless something is going on. hope that i am wrong.


i crocheted some more snowflakes for my swap partners as well as the other thing which i am not saying since some might read my blog. so nananananana
lol,

tomorrow have sooo much to do, bills to pay food to buy, and packages to send. yep i got to get a couple sent as i promised i would, for those who have bought its coming margerate i promise it is coming

lol, just have been so darn busy i have not had time hon will get it sent as soon as i can. hopfully by wensday.

i now have the task of finding a tad bit more room in my craft area, since the room is full now am finding hotspots for me to stash the rest. once i have out of here (dining room) i don't want to hear one more complaint against my "mess" mess indeed is nice yummy yarn that i can't get rid of at all, this last year i think i have given over 10,000.00 worth of yarns lols. most of which i have given the nuns but also some to those of you who paid for the shipping and trusted me enough to send it. i did send it as soon as i got the money as all of you who bought from me knows.

hi peeps, how ya all doing, today i cleaned my craft stuff up and out and omgosh, you should see the stuff i found, things i have been looking for and things i had forgotten i had, who needs christmas when you have a over run craft room lol,

i had forgotten half of the things i have made over the years and still have and now i dpn't need to do half the shopping i thought i did hehehe, not only is it handmade but its already finished. so you all who will be getting a gift from me, it might not be store bought but handmade is better anyways lol


chatted with fran tonight and also jean and jess, gosh jess has beeen soooooooooo long sweetie was thrilled we could chat. but sorry to hear the problems ya all are having. hang in there sweetie it will get better.


am working on my ornaments still almost done then starch and send off by the 30th or is it the 20th, shoot better look lol, anyways i am almost done so no worries my partners. it will be well worth it


well i let my son go and pick up the ham, omgosh what a mistake, the boy not only broke the bank with the price(63.00) but he got a 19 pound ham, what in the name of gobbles am i going to do with all that ham. he says he will take care of it so he be doing just that. i am lucky in the respect that i have my son who likes to cook, he will be doing most of thanksgiving dinner, i of course will be doing the sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes and stuffing, he on the other hand is in charge of the ham, in basting it and glazing it and making it nice and yummy hehehe, and ya know something? he might be 25, but he cooks like he has been around the kitchen for many years which in a way he has since i got hurt i can no longer make anything large such as a holiday meal.


been working on dd's christmas present, is a jolly roger skull and cross bones, front is done, back almost then sleeves and sew it together as i dust my hands off of each other


there is a question going around the one of the forums i belong to as to when you put your christmas tree up. if my son had his way it would already be up, realisticly will be about the 2nd week of dec. son has been on a huge buying spree of decorations and i asked him today where he was going to put them all, over at his nana's and grandpas? he said no they are for here. yeee gads and little catfish what am i going to do with all the decorations.

on another note, what is your favorite holiday movie or show that yu watch, this is not just about christmas movies either so when you sit down to watch a holiday movie what is it, and like i said does not have to be a christmas moviem, could be a different holiday movie like even a cartoon, i think my most favorite of all times has to be how the grinch stole christmas, its so goofy and fake, but the theme is what is good and what is evil. something i know most of themselves, my son's is die hard LOL, jk his is a mickeys christmas carol and my dd's is its a wonderful life. another fav of mine too, gosh how many movies are out there, so many we lost count when looking at them it boggles the mind.

itsy was so cute today, little stinker climbed up on the patio roof and would not come down for love or money stinker she loves to explore.

also wanted ya all to know i have not been on much cause the 16th was my son and hubbys birthday and we had a small gathering of just us lol, i baked their most favorite cake, and it only took me 4 hours
yes 4 hours, let me explain how it was. i measured and mixed, sprayed pam on the pan, got it all ready, poured the mixture into the cake pan and put it in the oven. set the timer and went and sat down in the living room since my back was bothering me, well i woke up 2 hours later to see smoke pouring out of the oven and the smoke alarm blaring away. thank goodness all it did was burn the cake, but of course was big fat mess. oh well that will teach me to not sit down and fall asleep. hehe,

speaking of, i am headed off here now and headed to bed, i am beat after working all day and i know tomorrow if i don't get my rest tonight/this morning lol then i am going to be having some serious pain issues what really sucks is i have so much to do and so little time to do it all in.


i have learned though that i HAVE to pace myself and today i sure didn't do that, back right now is doing the stab grab and bam on my back, hips and down my legs, on that unhappy note i am headed to bed. god bless you all and if you don't get a chance or i don't to post or read or answer, i want to wish you all a thanksgiving filled with fun and laughter, good food and plenty of love, god bless you all and i hope that you when you do come back and read this will, please share with me and all who read this what you did for the t-day (or in my case the pig day) we will go over and pick up mil and fil and bring them out, am also planning on inviting his aunt and uncle but doubt they will come, as their daughter often has dinner for that part of the family.

hey ya all

thanks for all of you who have been keeping us washingtonians up here in your thoughts and prayers,. i swear this weather better change soon or we are going to float away :0(, today was not so bad although it did rain and also was windy, but thankfully we had no damage, none whatsoever
today i worked in my craft room, cleaning and reorginizing my yarn supply, while it is getting better it is still way out of the loop hehe. i will be sending the yarn to you margaret as soon as i get a chance to get to the post office. right not am not even close to going yet.

today got another package of yarn, yes i said yarn lol is yarn i had bought last month from spincityarns out of hawaii. she sells on e-bay and i can guarentee she is a great seller. i know a few of you have bought from her and i know you agree.


started another gift for dd this is a belt made like a corset, i don't think i am going to make it quite as large as this one is in the happy hooker book, i also am making in in black thread with a red acrlyic mohair for the outter edge


i need to sit down and really figure out what i am making and giving to everyone for christmas. i know i am almost done with daughters, maybe a couple smaller store bought things, other than that i mostly have hand made for her which she will love i hope.

i know for some of my friends i am making gifts and for a few others will buy something , or maybe give supplies instead. who knows hehe


so what are ya all having for thanksgiving dinner? hubby wants somethinf totally different and i said no we are having the more traditional meal, if he really wants something that odd then will maybe do it for christmas.

i kind of over did it today and tonight am paying the price, my back and hips and legs are hurting so bad, i really over did it, tomorrow i will rest more, although have a bunch of places to go for my dear son, IF i feel better that is hehe.

if you could be anything or anyone you wanted in life what or who would you be? i think i would be a cat, because cats can and do just what they want. they will either be loving and caring or so aloof that you can noteven touch them. lol today shadow was so whiney so i went out to visit him, he jumped into my arms and proceded to kiss me until made him stop. his tounge is soooo rough, but he is soooo loving, i wish things were better for him. instead of the way they are. but at least he has a better life than he had before. but i am still sad for him, if only he and coast would get along. maybe someday.

util tomorrow i ask you be kind to another person and be good to yourself, remember to love your fur babies cause they have the cleanest and most pure love of all, pure love, they only ask for a few things food, clean water and companionship my furbabies are a major part of my life , without them i dont think i would be a happy person like i am, they love without asking for anything hugs to you all and god bless and keep you. hugs and take care

today i want to take the time to thank those of you who are vetrans and have chosen to serve this country at great loss to your own selves in all ways needed. you chose to defend this country. this country who has the most freedoms of any on this earth, and why is this one asks, let me tell you, its because of all the men and women who have served this country and layed their lives on the line for all of us. i for one am eternally greatful for your sacrifice. i get up each morning and thank god that i live in this great country. sure we have problems who doesn't, but i can guarentee that when push comes to shove, americans on the whole will stand up for our rights to freedom, to life liberty and the pursuit of happyiesss,

when 9-11 hit many americans became"patriotic" it was not that horrible tragedy that made me thank a vet and all who have served, although that angered me beyond anything i could ever say, only made me stronger and made me love this country even more. if i were able to be i would be on the field of battle. this is why when i heard about how cold it is in the areas that you all are serving, how i started to think what can i do, sat and made 43 helmet liners alone and gathered 7 more from fellow americans and friends who also salute you. god bless and keep you safe and may your day be filled with the gratitude you soooo deserve. i for one am very proud of our troops and i pray each day that you all come home safe and that all those who are home stay safe. i thank you all . without you, there would be no america as we know it today. your all in my thoughts and prayers every day. god bless you one and all

where has the time gone

gosh today i looked at the calender and i was so shocked that over a 1/3 of the week gone, we have had so much rain its just terrible. and now the meteroligest says that we are going to be slammed with another one. omgosh its awful


today went to circut city today and bought the new mcafee as my old one was drawing to extinction and since son needed one for his i just bought the one for 3 computers. i will get most of it back thank goodness lol. i refuse to ever use norton again. that was what messed my computer up so bad last year as i was not able to even get on the web, since the norton had over taken my computer and kept shutting it down, when contacted about it of course they denied responsibility, i have talked with so many people and i so wish i had known then what i know now. thank goodness there was no perminate damage. but i still hate norton and all of their policys. i talked with so many people that the same thing happened to them, what i would like to know is how they get away with denying they are reasonsibility, yet so many people have had it happen to them. oh well at least i found out before it totally killed my computer. some people were not so lucky . k about them but i still dislike them hehehe.


found out today all of the helmet liners have been delivered to afghanistan, and the responce is fantastic. so many of these troops could not believe that people here cared enough to give to them(with the helmet liners also was added many other goodies that my dear friend donna gets most of the credit, to you i bow my friend, donna included many goodies for these special heros we have, tooth brushes, dental floss, anything she could think to send to helpful to the wonderful men and women in the united states military.

now i have those done i have been trying to think of what to make now besides gifts, speaking of a new gift, did i tell you all about my special little grand niece i wish i could tell you her name but to be honest i can not remember what my sis told me, i am thinking it was emelia mae, if i can remember her name correctly. will find out before i send her a present, speaking of her gift, i am thinking of making her a darling little baby dress along with a blanket. or maybe just the dress, not sure how much time or energy i have. i also already have a darling little blanket already made, it is pink and has hearts all over it so might give her that as well as sending her the dress, who knows , maybe i will suprise them with both. wish me luck though since i can not remember;(thats a whole nother story hehe) i also am about 2/3 of the way on kristys sweater. i can't wait for her to get it, she is soooo into skulls, speaking of, today i got another tote bag from novelty creations on etsy.com it is the same material as the smaller purse i had made for her, the material is called skullfinity, hehehe, i am so happy this year with what i am getting for her and her brother, today i bought him 2 very nice handsome(he is a guy, nothing is pretty!!) sweaters, one is cardnial red(no it has nothin to do with the world series winners, its just the color of it cardnial red. also have one that is about a heather blue, soft but pretty(to bad son i said pretty lol) i also have boughten him a sweat shirt jacket style, he probably will like this one since he needs it.

today bought myself something i have been needing also, its a lumbar cusion and has some heat and vibration, AND let me tell you, it is awesome, best 12.00 i ever spent on myself

does it ever stop

omgosh we are drowing in rain, yesterday had 4.5 inches today ovr 3 and tomorrow and each day of this week we are suppose to have at least 2 to 3 in of rain and winds of 55 to 65 mph, sustained not gusts is what i have been hearing
i feel like i need a ark or something, wonder if noah had any plans for the ark printed up hehehe. seriously we are in trouble here with the water coming down so fast and hard. we need some sunshine people. like yesterday hehe,

on the other hand i am so excited since i am almost done with dd's christmas present. making her the jolly roger sweater for christmas and am about half way done with the back all the way done with the front and then need to swipe her sweater she has so i can see how long the sleeves are. i am so excited as i am almost done with it and it has been a while, not because of it being the sweater it is, but because thats one more wip done yes done whoooohooooo lol

yesterday was horrible weather out. hubby got called to work and while it was not in his job description to help with the flooding(he is a engineer not a plumber) he waded in the water with the rest of the employess and helped clean the drains out so the wanter could drain. i think most of the major flodding was caused by alot of the storm drains being blocked and was not any different at work. his boss knows who to call, one nice thing about it though is he will get 1 1/2 times his pay at 6.5 hours, makes a nice bonus for christmas as it will be on this paycheck hot dawg hehehe. this christmas i am making most of my gifts anyways though although son is hard to make anything for as he has pretty much all the blankets and sweaters and scarfs/hats he wants. so i have to think of something that i can buy for him instead. although i may make him something for his car. i like to make sure my kids have a blanket in their car so in case of if they stranded for some reason they have something warm, i also packed their emergency kits with space blankets which while does not seem warm, they actually are very warm as they reflect your own body heat. i have carried those for years and never have had to use them oncebut thats why i am thankfull for them. i know i am rambling hehehe


we had a nice night last night inspite of all of the problems we all dealt with. we watched the premier of our summer movie that we made. son and daughter made us spagettie and meat balls with garlic bread. we had a good time .

gosh it was so nasty poor shadow didn't even want to be out of his little cage in the garage. just sat at the gate and meowed all dang day, i felt so bad for the poor little guy, and today while we let him out early he kept coming back into his kennel, he hates the rain, a little secret for ya, so do i, especially when its the kind of rain we have had.

tomorrow i go to the doc and get my precsriptions which i am very thankful for, just hope the weather doesn't stop me as it is going to be so nice and nasty out they say oh i am sooo thrilled just so happy just kidding hehe
