today i made some home made spagettie sauce, we have so many tomatoes am just over run by them. hubby today says hey how bout making some homemade spagettie sauce. so this is what i did, i put these ingrediants into it,
10 pounds or so of tomatos
8 cans of tomato paste
2 large peppers(i used red, and yellow but you can use green or whatever ya want) cut up
about 1 clove of garlic minced well(you can also buy it preminced)
oregano about 1/4 cup of dried
basilabout 1/4 cup of dried
cilantro 4 tsp of dried cilantro
1 medium onion
1tsp cayenne pepper(you can also use regular pepper)
5 medium tomatoes cut up
small bit of salt(not needed if you can not have salt
when your tomatoes are a pureed, then add the 8 cans of tomato pste
in your food processor, puree the tomatoes after cutting the stem off .
add the 8 cans of tomato paste, add your peppers cut up into chunks, also cut your other tomatos in about 1/4 pieces
add the rest of the ingrediants and simmer on low, as it cooks sauce will thicken up
cook about 3 hours on low/med het. whatever your stove will do so it does not stick
meatballs
i use ground pork but ground beef or turkey works just as well
i ground about 2 pounds. then in mixing bowl put the ground meat in and then add 3 eggs, 4 tsp of parmesian cheese, basil, oregano(each about 4 tsp) then mix it well add bread crumbs(i use progresso italian herb bread crumbs) mix well and then form into small meatballs ( about 1 1/2 inches around) brown till almost cooked through. then add to sauce and let simmer for about 3/4 of a hour.
make spagettie for dinner, i used about 2 pounds, but then i was making alot of it as we had friends over who all have HUGE appetights. drain spagettie after it is done(make sure to check the doneness of it. then enjoy, i also mae garlic bread, but i cheated and bought it already made lol hope ya all enjoy huggggggs
